Job summary

Process transactions accurately at the check lane, operate the POS system, and handle cash, checks, cards, and loyalty offers while following policy and loss-prevention guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers.
• Process transactions at the check lane quickly and accurately.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, loss-prevention and company policies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and participate in price audits as needed.
• Explain ads and promotions and assist customers with questions about products.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow safety procedures.
