Job summary

Tharp Consulting is seeking a courteous cashier to operate cash registers, assist customers with bagging, and provide friendly service in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will handle transactions, weigh and bag items, and help maintain clean, organized shelves while following safety and food handling policies. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and prior retail experience is a plus for success in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Prior retail experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash registers and scanners to itemize purchases, handle products including grocery, produce, and meats.
• Process various payment methods accurately, including cash, checks, credit cards, and food assistance programs.
• Weigh, bag, and ensure proper handling of customer purchases.
• Utilize check-stand equipment efficiently and maintain store displays.
• Ensure accurate product pricing, signage, and communicate store programs and promotions.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and cash handling policies, and maintain a clean, stocked department.
• Assist with stocking and other tasks as needed, adhering to safety and food safety guidelines.
