Job summary

Kroger in Paducah, KY is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, assist shoppers, and process transactions accurately and efficiently at the check lane using the POS system.

You will handle tenders such as cash, checks, cards, SNAP/EBT, WIC, and coupons, follow loss-prevention guidelines, and ensure compliance with alcohol, tobacco and other restricted items while maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, engage and assist at the check lane.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Follow company loss-prevention guidelines and adhere to cash handling limits.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
