Job summary

Grab-N-Geaux is seeking a part-time Cashier/Kitchen Worker to deliver friendly service while supporting fast-paced kitchen operations. You will handle front-of-house transactions, assist with food preparation, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.

The role emphasizes accurate cash handling, POS proficiency, and customer education on promotions. Candidates should be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Strong communication with customers.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules (evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Preferred: cashiering or food service experience.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer warmly and professionally.
• Accurately perform transactions using the POS system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with correct change.
• Maintain a clean, organized front counter and kitchen area.
• Address customer questions and resolve minor concerns promptly and politely.
• Educate guests on our loyalty program and deals.
• Prepare and assemble food items per Grab N Geaux recipes and standards.
• Connect kitchen and cashier to educate guests on daily specials and BBQ plates.
• Ensure food is fresh and safely stored and prepared.
• Assist with restocking ingredients and disposables; report low inventory.
