Job summary

Kroger in Henderson, NV is hiring for an entry-level Store Operations role. You will help create an outstanding customer experience by answering questions, stocking merchandise, and keeping the department clean and organized to ensure customers feel valued.

You will support the department manager to reach sales goals, follow food safety standards, and uphold Kroger's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity and safety while serving customers daily.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Any retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with product suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products ordered by customers.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair.
• Notify management of accidents, safety risks, or illegal activity.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
