Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of department products and respond to questions with helpful suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality, ensure freshness, review dates and take action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and provide fresh products customers ordered.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair to the appropriate supervisor.
• Notify management of accidents or safety risks.
