Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Lima, OH to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and assist the Store Manager with supervision of staff and merchandise presentation.

You will support with deposits, scheduling, training, and ensuring policy compliance while protecting company assets and reducing losses. Strong communication and cash handling skills are essential for daily operations and profitability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate cash register and POS systems.
• Willingness to open/close store at least two days per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training; conduct safety meetings; ensure policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
