Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a Sales Associate to be a friendly point of contact for customers in our store. You will help customers locate and purchase merchandise, operate the cash register, stock, rotate, and display products, and keep the store clean and organized to maximize sales and our customers' experience.

You will follow merchandising standards, handle cash accurately, assist with checkouts, and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager, including maintaining safety protocols

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise guides.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment and bag merchandise.
• Follow merchandising processes; unpack, stock, rotate, and display merchandise.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, and help set up sidewalk displays.
