Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Sales Associate to serve as a primary contact for customers at our store location. You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, and help maintain a clean, organized selling floor.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing transactions, following merchandising standards, and aiding in store cleanliness. Previous experience is helpful, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment and make change, bag merchandise.
• Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean restrooms and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
