Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store associate to greet customers, stock shelves, operate the register, and help maintain plan-o-grams and displays. You will help unload trucks, check in merchandise, and assist shoppers with locating items while ensuring a clean, organized store environment.

The role involves cash handling, basic math, and following company procedures to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end of store and maintain sidewalk displays when needed.
