Job summary

Food Lion in Calabash, NC is seeking a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service at the checkout and front end. You will greet customers, scan items, bag groceries, and handle payments per store standards.

You will assist customers to their cars, maintain neat front-end areas, follow cash handling procedures, and participate in training to meet Food Lion service guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for efficient bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow cash handling procedures and complete payment transactions per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction and maintain cash control.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take the customer's order to their car.
• Maintain a neat and clean front end area and adhere to dress code.
• Report any register malfunction and ensure MVP savings center KIOSK is functioning.
• Adhere to all company guidelines and observe unsafe conditions.
• Complete CBT and training aids and perform other duties as assigned.
