Job summary

Hugo's Family Marketplace in Crookston, MN is seeking a part-time cashier to deliver friendly service and accurate transactions at the POS. You will greet customers, process sales, handle cash, and keep the checkout area neat.

This role requires reliability, basic math, and the ability to stand for long periods. Prior retail experience is a plus but not required; full benefits are available for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed.
• Comfortable bending, reaching, and performing repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with inquiries.
• Operate POS system to process sales (cash, credit, and debit).
• Handle cash, give change, and count cash at shift start.
• Assist customers with product information and locating items.
• Maintain clean, organized checkout area.
• Follow store policies including security and loss prevention.
• Provide support in other areas as needed.
