Job summary

PCC Community Markets in Seattle's Ballard area is seeking a friendly cashier to provide excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and promoting PCC memberships and programs.

You will scan and bag groceries, handle returns, and maintain a clean, organized register area. A basic math skill set and 10-key proficiency are required, with flexible shifts and a starting wage of $21.55 per hour.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service.
• Available to work mornings, mid-day shifts and weekends.
• Must demonstrate basic math skills and proficiency at 10-key.
• Excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• Previous retail or public customer contact experience preferred; cashiering or grocery experience preferred.
• Must meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, lifting 10-40lbs regularly.
• Food Worker Card from WA State Department of Health required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, professional customer service.
• Scan and key items into register and process payments per PCC standards.
• Perform basic math and use 10-key accurately.
• Explain PCC membership and programs to customers.
• Handle merchandise returns and bag groceries per guidelines.
• Maintain orderly appearance at the register and ensure sanitation and safety standards.
