Job summary

Mountain View Co-op is seeking a Part Time C-Store Clerk in Fairfield, MT. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, processing transactions, maintaining stock, and ensuring store safety and cleanliness.

The Clerk will operate POS systems, follow cash handling procedures, and support daily store operations in a fast-paced retail environment while upholding MVC’s culture and values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior customer service or retail experience preferred.
• Forklift Certification or ability to obtain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive customer experience through professional and courteous interactions.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Accurately operate the POS system and maintain cash control procedures.
• Follow MVC’s credit and cash handling policies.
• Ensure the store is properly stocked, merchandised, and faced.
• Rotate and monitor perishable products in accordance with food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including sales floor and work areas.
• Inform customers of applicable product handling and safety procedures.
• Assist in facility and equipment maintenance as needed.
• Ensure accuracy of transactions and assist with resolving system or balancing discrepancies.
• Follow all workplace safety practices and promptly report any safety concerns.
