Job summary

Keysight Technologies seeks an Advanced Forward Deployment Engineer to embed within a customer's development program as software developer, systems engineer, and deployment lead. You will ship production code and diagnose issues deep in the protocol stack while delivering controlled releases during early development cycles.

This customer-facing role requires building and modifying software, Python APIs, and automation within customer workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) with 4–5 years in software/systems engineering.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python with API development.
• Experience with Linux and embedded/real-time software.
• Ability to debug protocol interactions via logs, traces, and captured data.
• Willingness to relocate or travel to customer sites.
• Excellent communication skills for engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment issues from first report to validated fix.
• Work onsite with customer development teams during major feature introductions.
• Analyze signaling flows, traces, timing behavior, and performance data to isolate failures.
• Write and modify application and protocol-stack software.
• Develop Python APIs for customer integration.
• Build automation workflows within customer processes.
• Create diagnostic instrumentation when existing tools are insufficient.
• Develop, validate, and deploy controlled patches and interim releases.
• Run rapid prototyping loops with customers for feedback.
• Translate field problems into engineering requirements for product management and R&D.
