Job summary

VAST Data seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with strategic customer environments, owning design through production operation. You will partner with customer architects, operators, and developers to translate real-world requirements into core product improvements and ensure technical success of deployments.

You will write code, develop automation, and create API endpoints while advocating for customer needs in the VAST roadmap.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a highly technical, engineering role with customer-facing collaboration.
• Experience explaining complex distributed systems to customers and developers.
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into product improvements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate globally with engineering teams to track hotfixes and test builds.
• Co-engineer solutions with the customer's technical team to optimize throughput and resolve issues.
• Drive product development by turning real-world insights into actionable requirements for developers.
• Write code, develop automation, or scripts to unblock customer workflows and address feedback.
• Advocate for the customer, ensuring technical needs influence the product roadmap.
