Job summary

The Winn-Dixie Company is seeking a front-end cashier to ensure fast, courteous service at the checkout and service desk. You will scan, bag, and process payments while maintaining an accurate register and promoting a welcoming store environment.

You will handle cash, checks, SNAP, EBT and other tender types in compliance with policy, while supporting stock, safety, and loss-prevention standards and assisting new cashiers as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Basic computer skills to participate in online training.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• High integrity and reliability in cash handling.
• Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain it.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, debit/credit transactions and vouchers according to policy.
• Provide friendly, efficient service and resolve customer issues to satisfaction.
• Assist with stocking front-end areas and training new cashiers as needed.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and accuracy in cash handling and reporting.
