Responsibilities

• Smiles and greets customers, answers customer questions and helps resolve customer concerns promptly, in a polite and professional manner.
• Operates front end scanning equipment and cash register; performs all related check out procedures including bagging merchandise and placing merchandise in cart.
• Maintains accuracy during the transaction; ensures proper charges and funds are collected; follows guidelines regarding tobacco and alcohol sales.
• Maintains knowledge of weekly ads, promotions and store layout to answer questions.
• Responsible for general sanitation in the department; maintains clean work areas per health and OSHA requirements.
• Cooperates with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth department and store operations.
• May assist in other departments as needed.
