Job description

The company built on breakthroughs. Join us.

Corning is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramic, and materials science. From the depths of the ocean to the farthest reaches of space, our technologies push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Requisition Number: 78993

How do we do this? With our people. They break through limitations and expectations– not once in a career, but every day. They help move our company, and the world, forward.

At Corning, there are endless possibilities for making an impact. You can help connect the unconnected, drive the future of automobiles, transform at-home entertainment, and ensure the delivery of lifesaving medicines. And so much more.

Come break through with us.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Corning Optical Communications is a global leader in fiber and optical connectivity — and the Hyperscale Data Center market is one of our fastest-growing areas of focus. As a Program Specialist, you'll be the operational backbone of our most strategic customer relationships, coordinating complex projects, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring every commitment lands on time. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of project management and customer partnership, working directly alongside our Global Account Management and Sales Engineering teams on key Data Center accounts.

  • Provide tactical account management support to Global Account Managers and Sales Engineers, including tracking key contacts, opportunities, and project activity in Salesforce CRM
  • Maintain and update project forecasts and delivery timelines in internal planning tools to support Supply Chain and Product teams
  • Travel to customer sites and account meetings as needed (up to 25%) to review project performance and strengthen customer relationships
Experiences/Education - Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in account management, project coordination, or customer operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across cross‑functional teams
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience coordinating with Supply Chain, Operations, or Product teams on complex project delivery
Skills - Desired
  • Background in data center, fiber optics, telecommunications, or networking industry
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Background in Customer Care, Marketing, or Sales support functions
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required to support customer needs
