Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers, assist in plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and maintain store presentation. You will unload trucks and help set up displays.

This role requires strong communication, basic math and cash handling, ability to operate the POS, and readiness to work in a fast-paced environment while protecting assets. High school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Follows safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑gram guidance.
• Basic cash handling procedures knowledge.
• Basic math skills.
• IBM cash register functions experience.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack merchandise; stock room or sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom.
• Greet customers.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer purchases; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment from customer and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners, as needed.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
