Job summary

The Kroger Co. is hiring for a Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service in our Long Beach, CA store.

You will greet customers, process transactions at the checkout, and ensure a quick, accurate checkout experience while following store policies and safety guidelines. You will work with a team to maintain a clean, safe shopping environment and assist customers with questions, promotions, and product locations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets, engages and assists customers in-store.
• Processes transactions at the checkout efficiently and accurately.
• Operates the POS system and handles payments and tenders per policy.
• Complies with cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Adheres to age-restricted and restricted-items guidelines (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Reports pricing discrepancies and follows pricing procedures.
• Maintains clean, safe environment and reports safety hazards.
• Provides product information and helps customers find items.
