Job summary

Flinn Scientific is seeking a part-time Customer Experience Associate to support the Customer Experience Team with data entry, quotes, orders, and account linkages. The role focuses on back-office and phone operations, with attention to accuracy and PCI-compliant payment processing.

Workload is seasonal: about 20 hours/week in slower months and 30+ hours/week in busy months (July–October). This is a part-time, office-hours position located in Batavia, IL, 60510.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Reliability and attention to detail, to support our customers via email, phone and live chat channels.
• Computer proficiencies – Experienced in the use of the Internet and ability to work in a computerized environment. Strong data entry skills and ability to create and update Word and Excel documents.
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently; ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle back-office and phone operations, performing ad-hoc requests.
• Produce quotes for customers and placing customer orders to maximize timely service to customers.
• Process credit card payments and maintaining PCI compliance.
• Initiate new customer linkage between new customers, schools, and districts within CRM.
• Communicate with customers to provide updates regarding their orders, handle suppliers to expedite orders, and ensure shipments are properly arranged using the most expeditious and economical methods. Includes finished goods, bulk, and repack supply items.

Summary

Flinn Scientific is the industry leader in enabling science teachers to educate young minds in both the US and Canada. Our Part-Time Customer Experience Associate will work directly with the Customer Experience Team on various projects, initiatives, and data entry tasks including account linkages, orders, and quotes.

Since our work is seasonal, our part time team members work 20 hours per week during slower months and flex to 30+ hours per week during busier months. Our busiest months are July-October. Our slowest months are June and December.

The Customer Experience Associate – Day-to-Day:

• Handle day-to-day back-office and phone operations, performing ad-hoc requests.
