Job summary

Family Dollar in Chauvin, LA is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions at the cash register, stock shelves, unload trucks, and keep the store clean and presentable.

We value reliable individuals with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, able to lift 30–50 lbs and work in a fast-paced retail environment. Training and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Stock shelves and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks.
• Keep store clean and presentable, including bathrooms.
