Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Customer Experience Associate is responsible for the following duties, in addition to other tasks as assigned:

  1. Greet customers with a smile, answer questions, and resolve concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. Follow company policies related to customer checkout to enhance satisfaction.
  2. Operate front-end scanning equipment and cash register. Perform checkout procedures efficiently, including bagging merchandise and placing items in customers' carts.
  3. Ensure transaction accuracy, charging customers correctly for all items and collecting appropriate funds, including cash, checks, electronic payments, and coupons. Follow security measures and cash handling procedures to avoid discrepancies. Comply with store and legal guidelines for selling tobacco and alcohol.
  4. Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, promotions, and store layout to assist customers effectively.
  5. Keep the department clean and organized by following sanitation schedules and guidelines, ensuring all work areas, equipment, and displays meet health and OSHA standards. Properly dispose of trash.
  6. Support the smooth operation of the department and store by collaborating with co-workers and supervisors. Continuously seek to improve job performance.
  7. Use all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
  8. Assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To succeed in this role, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. The following are the minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, or working towards it. No prior experience required.
