Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience designing and proposing migration strategies using Google Cloud and other cloud providers.
• 10+ years of experience delivering data center off‑loading and cloud migrations for enterprise workloads, including VMs, containers, VMware clusters, and Oracle technology.
• Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in complex cloud migrations of enterprise workloads, including VMware clusters.
• Knowledge of VMware licensing and competitive positioning against other cloud providers.
• Ability to estimate and model TCO/ROI business cases.
• Familiarity with migration tools, strategies, and best practices, including VMware vMotion and generic migration center tools.
• Understanding of security, compliance, governance, and operations aspects of migrations.

About the job

As a Practice Customer Engineer specializing in infrastructure migrations, you will partner with technical sales teams and other Customer Engineers to differentiate Google Cloud’s secure, scalable platform for public sector customers. You will accelerate technical wins for migrating complex, mission‑critical government and educational workloads by collaborating with platform engineers, Google Cloud Consulting, and public sector partners. Your role will involve directing pilot migrations, proof‑of‑conceptions, and demonstrations that showcase how agencies can modernize large‑scale legacy environments while meeting rigorous security and compliance standards. You will also provide critical feedback to influence agency stakeholders, partners, and product development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design the architecture and migration strategy for enterprise workloads, including VMware technology, and interact with customer stakeholders to propose innovative solutions that maximize value.
• Support account teams and migration architects in solution design, detailed project planning, and estimation.
• Size the architecture and estimate migration costs, accounting for software licensing, network traffic, security, and other factors to support TCO/ROI models.

US: $152,000 - $222,000 (USD) + 42.86% bonus target + equity + benefits.
