Job summary

GTi is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our onsite team in San Jose, supporting semiconductor metrology equipment. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, upgrade, and perform preventative maintenance, collaborating with operations, engineering, and support to keep systems reliable.

We're looking for at least 2 years' hands-on experience with semiconductor tools, strong schematics reading, and a proactive problem-solver mindset.

Qualifications

• 2+ years supporting semiconductor tools or equipment.
• Experience with metrology, vacuum, or plasma systems preferred.
• Strong system and component level troubleshooting ability.
• Able to read electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics.
• Comfortable diagnosing and repairing complex equipment independently.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom production environment.
• Strong computer skills and ability to document service activity and technical findings clearly.
• Able to work closely with operations, engineering, and support teams.
• Able to support installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and equipment recovery.

At least 2 years of experience with semiconductor equipment is needed, but the most important quality is knowing you are the person who will figure it out. We can provide the schematics and teach you the systems, but we can't teach you the instinct to keep working on a problem until it makes sense.
