Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and receive/unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in the stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays; stock and face shelves; restock recovered items.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answer questions.
• Greet customers and operate the cash register to itemize and total purchases; bag items and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners; set up sidewalk displays when needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness: dust, mop, restrooms, and stockroom; follow company policies.
