Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store associate to serve as the primary point of contact for customers, stock and display merchandise, and operate the checkout. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, build displays, and assist customers in locating items.

The role requires basic cash handling, familiarity with plan-o-gram guidelines, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. This is a full-time, on-site position with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Be the point of contact for customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs.
• Stock merchandise and rotate/face shelves; build displays.
• Unload trucks and stock back stock; restock recovered merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Greet customers and maintain store cleanliness and safety.
