Job summary

White Cap seeks a seasoned operations leader to oversee a department within the Customer Delivery Hub (CDH). You will drive production, quality, and safety goals, and coach a team of associates while ensuring adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities include managing the area’s business plan, resolving facility issues, and supporting the CDH Manager. A BS/BA and 5+ years in operations are required, with strong OSHA/DOT/EHS knowledge and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a related discipline; 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• Experience in operations, distribution, logistics.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EHS protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations and personnel activities for one or more department(s) within the CDH.
• Manage the area's business plan to achieve facility goals (production, quality, safety).
• Ensure compliance with supply chain and quality standards and procedures across the facility.
• Handle facility-level problems, coaching and disciplining associates, investigating discrepancies.
• Supervise associates, provide direction, set objectives, monitor performance, and give feedback.
• Support CDH Manager and other department managers as needed.
• Foster transparency, service, and continuous improvement in talent practices; mentor and develop a high-performing team.

Responsible for overseeing operations within a specific department or team within a Customer Delivery Hub (CDH). Supports the development and management of CDH associates while ensuring full compliance with company policies and procedures. Provides assistance to the CDH Manager and may take on the responsibilities of the facility manager during the CDH Manager's absence.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

• Manages the operations and personnel activities for one or several department(s) within the Customer Delivery Hub (CDH).
• Manages the assigned area's business plan to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, and safety) and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the assigned area.
• Maintains and supports compliance with supply chain and business quality standards, regulations, and established procedures across the facility.
• Manages operational facility level problems, including coaching and disciplining associates and investigating inventory discrepancies and making adjustments as required.
• Supervises associates in assigned areas of responsibility by providing direction, communicating objectives, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
• Provides support to CDH Manager or other department managers as needed.
• Champions a culture of transparency, service, and continuous improvement in all talent practices. Leads cultural initiatives that promote associate engagement. Mentor and develop a high-performing team across the CDH.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Education And Experience

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a management role within an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment.
• Extensive knowledge of operations or supply chain processes.
• Strong communication, OSHA, DOT, and EHS knowledge.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
