Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Effective communication skills
• Retail experience is a plus
• Second language (spoken, read or written) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment that welcomes customers by answering questions about products
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with recommendations
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials
• Check product quality and review dates to ensure freshness
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products ordered
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Maintain a positive attitude and stay current with ads
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures
• Follow safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needs
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
