Job summary

Kroger in Bucyrus, OH is seeking a friendly cashier/checker to greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately at the check lane, and help shoppers with questions. You will work to create an outstanding customer experience while upholding safety, integrity, and policy compliance in a busy store.

This role emphasizes adherence to all store procedures, handling various payment methods, and contributing to loss prevention efforts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker is visible, greets, engages and assists customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash shortage/overage limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify for repairs.
• Create welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts calmly.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
