Job summary

The Lighthouse for The Blind in New Orleans is hiring a Customer Service Representative to be the primary point of contact for Lighthouse Louisiana customers, delivering accurate information and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.

This full-time position supports cross-functional teams, processes orders via multiple channels, and maintains customer data with a focus on timely, friendly service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: High School / GED required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; competent in the Microsoft Office Suite; NetSuite experience a plus.
• 1-2 years’ customer service experience preferred; call center and state use experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess customer needs to ensure high satisfaction; resolve issues professionally.
• Provide accurate, complete, and timely information to customers.
• Represent Lighthouse Louisiana positively and build trust-based relationships.
• Enter customer data and order information into Lighthouse systems; communicate internally.
• Process all incoming customer purchase orders promptly and accurately.
• Manage a high volume of calls; address inquiries in a timely fashion.
• Take and manage orders, provide quotes and product availability; provide shipping updates.
• Update customer profiles and addresses; anticipate needs and address issues.
• Understand Lighthouse pricing and purchasing channels; tailor information by customer group.
• Serve as subject matter expert on Lighthouse products; research solutions when needed.
• Coordinate with production/shipping/warehouse to ensure timely fulfillment.
• Gather and report customer feedback; suggest product or process improvements.
• Support Sales with product research and cost analysis.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
