Job summary

Blain’s Farm & Fleet in Ottawa, IL is seeking a Customer Care Desk Associate to run the store phone and assist customers with returns, questions, complaints, and store directions. You will perform duties such as cashiering, handling e-commerce orders, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.

Great communication skills and retail experience are preferred. Availability for evenings and at least every other weekend, plus the ability to pass a background check, are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage store phone/switchboard and assist customers with returns, questions, and directions.
• Process returns by scanning goods and organizing them for the appropriate department.

• Operate as cashier and handle transactions.
• Manage online-order pickups and in-store orders.
• Keep the Customer Service Desk tidy and presentable; assist other departments as needed.

Compensation

• Saturday & Sunday weekend premium pay $2.50/hr
• Base pay up to $15.00/hr

Job Duties

The Customer Care DeskAssociate would run the store phone/switchboard and assist customers with returns, questions, complaints, and directions around the store, along with other assigned duties that would ensure that the customer has an efficient, pleasant shopping experience.This can include, but is not limited to:

• Scan returned goods and place into bins/shopping carts to return the goods to the department
• Route mail/file paperwork
• Issue Hunting and Fishing licenses
• Cashier
• Manage the incoming E-commerce customer orders and In-Store Pick Ups
• Keep the Customer Service Desk clean and presentable to the customers
• Help in other departments as assigned
• Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Great communication skills
• Prior Retail experience preferred
• Able to work evenings when needed and at least every other weekend
• Able to pass a background check
