Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, strategic business leader to join our dynamic team leading our Ingredient & Foodservice Dry Pasta business. This role has responsibility for managing the P&L and budget to ensure we meet our annual plan and long-term strategic objectives in these categories. This Business Unit Manager will develop short- and long-term strategies, new product platforms, packaging, and new item commercialization in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This position will be responsible for commercialization process management, responding to sales proposals, developing bid submissions, and owning pricing decisions.

  • Salary : $93,000 to $158,000 annually with additional bonus potential.
Responsibilities
  1. Manage day-to-day customer relationships and serve as the primary contact for customer buyers.
  2. Provide management and oversight to the broker network where applicable.
  3. Proactively sell the Winland value proposition, customizing it for each customer.
  4. Maintain accurate demand forecasts and address gaps in the Customer Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  5. Own all business inputs for the creation and delivery of the Customer AOP at a category level.
  6. Deliver the customer and region AOP.
  7. Develop sales and pricing initiatives aligned with Winland’s strategic goals.
  8. Enhance profitability at the customer/region level.
  9. Identify whitespace opportunities and develop plans to capitalize on them.
  10. Collaborate with commercialization teams to identify innovation, packaging, and assortment opportunities.
  11. Analyze customer data to drive business performance improvements.
  12. Develop and execute customer trade spend strategies, understanding and managing trade spend in Winland’s system.
  13. Provide strategic and financial recommendations for bids and total customer growth.
  14. Work cross-functionally to facilitate plan delivery and develop bid strategies.
  15. Manage product opportunities in the Product Portfolio Management System.
  16. Engage leadership to support customer initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce product damages or obsolescence risks.
Qualifications & Experience
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or related fields.
  3. Experience in broker or key account management with large or multiple accounts.
  4. Category leadership experience.
  5. Ability to translate insights into strategic plans for growth.
  6. Excellent communication, analytical, and financial skills.
  7. Proficiency in Power BI, SAP, SharePoint, MS Office.
  8. Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  9. Resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities to enhance customer relationships.
