Job summary

PLZ Corp is seeking a Customer Account Specialist in Downers Grove, IL to provide proactive service to customers and sales reps. You will manage orders, schedules, pricing, and billing while building strong customer relationships and driving portal adoption.

Responsibilities include coordinating with plant schedulers, handling inquiries, and maintaining accurate customer data. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint/SmartSheet.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • SharePoint, SmartSheet experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Windows, Excel, Outlook and other MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Primary contact with customers and sales representatives concerning orders, production dates, quantities, products, shipments and pricing.
  • Management of assigned accounts; building relationships with accounts.
  • Customer visits and dedicated calls to support accounts.
  • Assist in building strong relationships with customers by using internal systems and processes.
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles documenting expectations and delivery commitments.
  • Process item setup, substitutions, returns and credits; assist with billing, shipping and product inquiries.
  • Coordinate with plant scheduler to provide workable schedules and ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain composure during difficult exchanges; adapt to supply challenges to meet commitments.
  • Participate in customer onboarding; highlight critical components and expectations.
  • Communicate VOC notifications and pricing; proactively solve problems for customers.
  • Achieve in-depth knowledge of product uses and functions; provide proactive customer service.
  • Assist with special projects including allocations, pricing increases, and reporting.
  • Focus on order management and accurate customer master data; drive portal adoption.
  • Process Sales Orders EDI and manual; troubleshoot order discrepancies.

The Customer Account Specialist provides proactive customer service to both customers and sales representatives. This position requires an ability to adapt to process change, solve problems and multi-task.

Key Responsibility
  • Primary contact with customers and sales representatives concerning acceptance of orders and confirmation of production dates, quantities, products, shipments and pricing.
  • Management of assigned accounts. Building relationship with accounts
  • Customer Visits and Dedicated Calls
  • Assist in building strong relationships with customers by working through internal systems and processes to meet their needs/requirements.
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles to document knowledge of customer expectations and delivery commitments
  • Processing of item setup, substitutions, returns and credits, as well as assisting customers with billing, shipping and product inquiries
  • Work with plant scheduler to provide the customer with a schedule that is agreeable and workable for the plant. Monitor schedule to ensure timely receipt of client materials and approvals to enable adherence to schedule and delivery commitments.
  • Excellent communication abilities are required as this position is the Voice of Customer for our organization.
  • This critical role requires the ability to maintain composure during complicated exchanges as well as adapt to supply challenges by making changes that bind the company via order acceptance and schedule change impact.
  • Participate in Customer onboarding process
  • Highlight all critical components, customer concerns and expectations
  • This position also communicated Volatile Organic Compound notifications and Pricing Communication. You must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and use independent decision making to proactively solve problems for our customers.
  • Achieve and maintain in-depth working knowledge of product uses and functions.
  • Ability to provide proactive and consultative customer service that aligns with our strategy
  • Assist with special projects when necessary, including Allocations, Pricing Increases that have impact on our revenue and Reporting
  • Focus on Order Management and Accurate Customer Master Data
  • Drives customer adoption of our portal
  • Processing Sales Orders EDI and manual, troubleshooting order discrepancies and assisting customers with pricing, order processing and delivery issues.
  • Responsible for seamless and transparent execution from order acceptance through final product delivery
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • SharePoint, Smart sheet experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Windows, Excel, Outlook and other MS Office applications.
Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $65,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
