Job summary

Hirschmann Windows & Doors is seeking skilled Custom Woodworkers to join our West Rutland, VT shop. You will build high-end wood windows and doors from raw stock to final assembly, measuring and joining with precise accuracy and using hand and power tools.

You will read drawings, follow production schedules, and maintain a safe, organized production environment while collaborating with supervisors and project managers to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry and woodworking skills with ability to read plans and measure precisely.
• Proficiency using hand tools (chisels, planes, measuring tools) safely.
• Proficiency using power tools (tables saws, planers, sanders) safely.
• Experience in cabinetry or fine millwork, especially custom, architectural projects.
• Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to maintain consistency in repetitive tasks.
• Capacity to lift, move, and handle wood materials and components daily.
• Ability to follow safety protocols, work effectively in a team, and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
• Previous experience in a woodworking shop or construction environment preferred; vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build high-end custom wood windows and doors from raw materials through final assembly.
• Measure and cut stock, perform joinery and assembly.
• Operate woodworking machinery and tools, ensuring components meet precise specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to interpret drawings, follow production schedules, and maintain a clean, safe shop environment.
• Interacting with team members to ensure on-time delivery of projects.
