Role Description
Custom Woodworkers at Hirschmann Windows & Doors build high-end custom wood windows and doors from raw materials through final assembly. Day-to-day responsibilities include measuring and cutting stock, performing joinery and assembly, operating woodworking machinery and tools, and ensuring all components meet precise specifications and quality standards. Team members collaborate with supervisors and project managers to interpret drawings, follow production schedules, and maintain a clean and safe shop environment. This is a full-time, on-site role located in West Rutland, VT, working in a production shop setting with hands-on craftsmanship.
Qualifications
- Strong Carpentry and Woodworking skills, including experience reading plans and working to precise measurements.
- Proficiency using Hand Tools (e.g., chisels, planes, measuring tools) safely and accurately.
- Proficiency using Power Tools (e.g., table saws, planers, sanders) in a shop environment with a focus on safety.
- Experience in Cabinetry or fine millwork, particularly with custom, detailed, or architectural projects.
- Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to maintain consistency in repetitive tasks.
- Capacity to lift, move, and handle wood materials and components as part of daily shop work.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, work effectively in a team, and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Previous experience in a woodworking shop or construction environment preferred; relevant vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus.
