Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Custom Spray Process Engineer serves as the technical owner of custom coating and spray manufacturing processes, supporting both prototype development and production operations. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, embraces change, and can balance immediate production needs with long‑term process and automation improvements.

The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually depending on education, experience and skillset.

  • Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing process changes that improve manufacturing performance
  • Hands-on engineering experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and processes; comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments with exposure to ISO 13485, FDA/GMP requirements, AS9100, aerospace, or similar quality systems
  • Experience participating in equipment validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects involving Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite, JD Edwards, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to create work instructions, train operators, and drive adoption of new processes
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Medical device manufacturing experience
  • ISO 1385 at least 1 year of experience
  • Aerospace, automotive, advanced manufacturing, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience

  • Experience with automation, robotics, and process monitoring systems
  • Experience with SCADA platforms (Ignition preferred)
  • Experience with Minitab or other statistical analysis tools
