Job summary

Gillette Children's in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is seeking a full-time Seating Technician to join our orthotics, prosthetic & seating department. Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm; 40 hours per week; benefit eligible.

You will pre-fabricate custom seating and adaptive equipment to meet safety and quality standards, with patient contact as needed, and assist in coordinating fabrication workflows using our information systems.

• Ability to critically think, problem solve and interrupt fabrication forms
• Must be able to work proficiently with Gillette information systems for attaining information about equipment and patient.
• Must complete documentation in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner

Responsibilities

• Ensures lab and individual work area are regularly cleaned, inventory stocked and kept orderly to promote safe and efficient work area.
• Utilize proper materials, equipment and methods in safe and efficient manner to complete projects to meet fabrication timelines.
• Quality measures require seating fabrication to be functional, safe, cosmetically pleasing, and matching the fabrication criteria provided on the fabrication form following established standards.
• Communicates professionally.
• Communicates directly with seating practitioners to clarify information provided and/or lacking on fabrication form.
• Meets Gillette's customer service expectations by providing prompt service to all customers including patients, families and hospital staff.
• Fosters a positive work environment with teamwork and willingness to learn and improve.
• Proficient in Gillette information and clinical information systems; complete documentation accurately and timely.
