Sr. Manager, Custom Research

• Salary: $88,000 - $98,000/annually

We’re looking for a strategic, client-facing Director of Custom Research with deep quantitative expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, consultative environment and enjoys solving complex business challenges across a variety of industries.

What You’ll Do

Quantitative Research Leadership

• Design and execute advanced methodologies including segmentation, conjoint analysis, max-diff, regression, and other statistical techniques.
• Analyze and synthesize large datasets to uncover actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
• Lead quant-heavy projects independently, ensuring analytical rigor and methodological soundness.
• Utilize tools such as SPSS, Q, R, or Python (or demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new platforms).
• Translate complex quantitative concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

• Act as a strategic partner to clients, engaging in consultative discussions to tailor research approaches to their evolving needs.
• Translate client objectives into customized research designs and deliverables.
• Present findings and insights in a compelling, client-friendly manner.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships by proactively managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor and support junior associates, helping them grow their technical and professional skills.
• Provide guidance on research design, data interpretation, and project execution.
• Review junior team members’ work for quality and accuracy, and foster a collaborative, learning-focused team culture.
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in teaching and investing in team development.

Project Management

• Oversee end-to-end project execution, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality standards are met.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., marketing science, research, operations) to align on project goals and deliverables.
• Anticipate potential issues and proactively address them to keep projects on track.

What You Bring

• Proven experience in custom quantitative research, ideally in a client-facing role.
• Strong background in statistical analysis and research design.
• Experience managing and mentoring junior team members.
• Familiarity with industries such as healthcare, financial services, CPG, retail, and tech.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• A collaborative, positive attitude and strong cultural fit.
• Experience working in a hybrid or fast-paced agency environment.
• Passion for teaching and developing others.
• Ability to work fluidly across multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Salary Range: $88,000 - $98,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
