Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Custom Protection Officer (CPO) Flex Officer to conduct armed and/or unarmed patrols at client sites in Charlotte, NC. You will monitor entrances, CCTV, and alarms, prepare reports, and deter security threats while providing courteous service.

This role requires strict attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to respond quickly to incidents. Flex shifts may be irregular, with short notice, and depend on site post orders.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to operate radio/telephone equipment and monitor CCTV/alarms.
• Good judgment, problem solving, and attention to detail is required.
• Willingness to work irregular shifts and adapt to site Post Orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas by foot or vehicle.
• Monitor entrances/exits and deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe, report, and document incidents and safety hazards.
• Deter theft and ensure proper property protection.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with authorities when needed.
• Provide courteous assistance to customers, employees, and visitors.

Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Custom Protection Officer (CPO) Flex Officer. The Custom Protection Officer Flex Officer will conduct armed and/or unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior). Additional duties include control access and egress; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconduct. The Custom Protection Flex Officer will work at various assignments and may be called upon to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
• Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
• Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess one or more of the following
• Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
• A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
• Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.*A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
• Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
