Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for our Arden, NC manufacturing facility where the position is onsite. The role includes designing complex drawings and BOMs, coordinating electrical interfaces, and guiding manufacturing and procurement to meet customer requirements.

Relocation assistance is available for US residents. Applicants will work with global Eaton engineering teams to process orders and deliver compliant equipment, while supporting small to mid-size projects and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience with electrical equipment design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex drawings and bills-of-materials per UL 1008 and applicable standards.
• Consult with plant and field engineers on new equipment applications.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
• Advise technicians, Manufacturing and Purchasing on interpretation for production.
• Consult with Quality to resolve issues after shipment when required.
• Manage small to medium projects to completion meeting deadlines.
• Select engineering techniques to solve problems and provide design recommendations.
• Interface daily with remote Eaton engineering locations to process orders.

Job description

Eaton’s Electrical Sector - ARS division is growing and currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer based onsite at our Arden, NC manufacturing facility. Relocation assistance is available for candidates currently residing in the US.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71.000 - $105,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provide sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser’s equipment application per UL 1008 and other applicable standards.
• Consults with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
• Coordinates mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
• Advises ETO/COE technician, Manufacturing and Purchasing (as needed) in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser’s requirements.
• Consults with the Quality Department in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.
• Manages assigned small to medium sized projects to completion in meeting deadlines.
• Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations.
• Interfaces daily with remote Eaton engineering locations including Juarez, MX and Pune, IN in the processing of customer orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic (required) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electromechancial, or mechatronics engineering (or similar) from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience supporting engineering to order of electrical equipment or components.
• Experience with 3D Modeling/design for sheet metal, copper, etc and assemblies.
• Experience or understanding of electrical wiring or schematic design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Inventor or other CAD modeling software.
