Job summary

Jones is seeking a Custom Metal Fabricator/Welder in Green Bay, WI. You will read blueprints, select materials, cut, form, weld, wire, and assemble to meet client vision for architectural elements. Ensure quality and safety throughout fabrication.

Work with a variety of signs and architectural components for venues and entertainment facilities, with a focus on teamwork to maintain efficient production flow. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate tools per job specs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years fabrication experience in steel or aluminum preferred.
• Welding abilities MIG, flux core, aluminum, TIG, or stick.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret product drawings and instructions.
• Verify dimensions and specifications; select materials per work orders.
• Weld aluminum or steel structures using MIG/TIG/flux core as required.
• Finish parts; grind, polish, and clean for paint.
• Run wiring and install lighting per schematics.

Position Summary:

As a Custom Metal Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for following technical blueprints while forging various materials to create unique and high visibility architectural elements. You will be assigned fabrication projects where you will be responsible for from start to finish; blueprint reading, material selection, cutting, forming, welding, and wiring through final assembly to meet client’s vision and specifications. You will ensure quality control standards are met throughout the fabrication process while ensuring safety guidelines are followed.

• Major sports facilities
• Lambeau, American Family Field, Daytona Motor Speedway, AT&T Arena, T-Mobile Arena, NFL Hall of Fame, BMO Stadium, Climate Pledge Arena, and many more sports venues
• Amusement parks such as those in Florida, California and others
• Entertainment and hospitality venues like casinos and hotels
• All types and sizes of signs, scoreboards, building facades, architectural elements, canopies, ornamental enclosures and much more

Essential Functions:

• Reading and interpreting product drawings, along with assembly instructions
• Verifying dimensions and product specifications
• Selecting materials per work orders
• Use shears, torches, press brakes, or drill press as needed per job specifications to create parts to specified shapes and lengths
• Fit, tack, and weld a variety of aluminum or steel structures per fabrication requirements, using primarily MIG welding processes
• Finish parts and assemblies by griding, polishing, and cleaning to prepare for paint application
• Run electrical wiring and install lighting, as applicable, per schematics
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration to ensure production flow efficiently
• Any other additional duties assigned by the leader
• Work Conditions consist of a naturally lit, well-ventilated and clean manufacturing environment
• Standing, bending, and twisting 90% of the day
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Adherence to strict safety guidelines and PPE: safety glasses, gloves, steel tipped work boots, welding gear, ear protection as required
• Must be able to work in a variety of work environments, such as cold and hot weather (depending on area)

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years’ experience in Fabrication – steel, aluminum preferred
• Welding abilities in MIG, flux core, aluminum, TIG, and/or stick
• Ability to operate a wide range of hand and power tools
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to read tape measure
• Good organizational skills
• Certified welding certification a plus
