US Foods, Inc. is hiring a Meat Cutter Custom in Greensburg, PA. The role involves preparing high quality meat cuts per customer specifications, trimming portions, labeling products, and maintaining a clean cutting area in a refrigerated environment.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 1st shift, with potential overtime as needed. Qualified candidates have at least 1 year as a meat cutter, experience with band saws or laser portioning equipment, and knowledge of USDA meat grades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• 1 year experience as a meat cutter.
• Knowledge of poultry, beef, lamb and pork, USDA grades and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality cuts of meats according to customer specifications using company standards and safety requirements.
• Trim and customize portions using knives, band saws or other meat production equipment.
• Count and stack portions per customer and specifications.
• Label portions with supplied product labels.
• Set up cutting room and maintain clean, sanitized work area.
• Work in refrigerated environment 35°F–45°F and follow GMP guidelines.
• Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Related Experience/Requirements: Skilled as a specialty meat cutter using knives required; minimum (1) year experience as a meat cutter. Experience with band saws, laser portion machinery or other meat production equipment is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of poultry, beef, lamb, and pork products including USDA grades and standards.Knowledge of NAMA guidelines and product cut numbers, i.e. 1184F vs 1184B is required.Must be able to work continually in a refrigerated environment 35°F- 45°F Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds).
