Job summary

11th Judicial District Court in North Carolina seeks a Custody and Visitation Mediator (NS) to provide mediation services in the Custody and Visitation Mediation Program across Franklin, Granville, Person, Vance, and Warren counties. Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work, family counseling, or a comparable human relations discipline plus two years related experience.
• Forty hours of mediation training by a qualified instructor as required by NC statutes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct orientation sessions for custody mediation.
• Provide a structured, confidential setting to facilitate non-adversarial resolution of custody/visitation disputes.
• Facilitate mediation sessions using neutral techniques to resolve issues.
• Apply knowledge of child development and family dynamics to aid decisions.
• Help parties develop custody/visitation agreements in the child's best interest.
• Draft parenting agreements per mutual decisions.
• Engage with the court and community to promote custody mediation services.
