Position Summary

This position supports Detention Deputies during the inmate booking and release process. Duties include direct contact with inmates, maintaining and updating inmate records, and performing various jail-related clerical tasks. The position also requires operating the jail’s control systems, including doors, gates, video surveillance, and intercom systems, requiring strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

• Starting Pay: $22.96 per hour DOE (includes $0.50 shift differential)
• Retirement: Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI)
• Pension plan with 5-year vesting
• Lifetime payout upon retirement
• Healthcare: Comprehensive benefits package, including access for employees and dependents to a free medical clinic offering:

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants Must

• Possess a high school diploma or GED
• Have at least six (6) months of work experience
• Possess or be able to obtain NCIC (National Crime Information Center) certification within six (6) months of hire
• Be able to carry and use pepper spray
