WebstaurantStore is seeking a Custodian for our Albany, GA warehouse. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment through routine cleaning, waste management, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include floor care, restroom and office cleaning, waste disposal, inventory of cleaning supplies, and collaboration with team and leadership to meet daily and weekly goals. Physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 lbs are required.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of distribution environment experience.
High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness.
Clean restrooms, break rooms, and office areas.
Wipe down surfaces and equipment to reduce dust.
Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables per local protocols.
Maintain waste bins and recycling receptacles; timely removal.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe workplace.
Report safety hazards or maintenance needs to leadership.
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies.
Organize and store cleaning equipment and materials.
Assist with setup and cleanup for warehouse events.
Perform minor repairs as needed.

Job Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment within the warehouse facility. This role involves routine cleaning, waste management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Custodians utilize an eye for detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness to perform physical tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure cleanliness throughout the warehouse.
Clean restrooms, break rooms, and office areas regularly.
Wipe down surfaces and equipment to maintain a dust-free environment
Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables according to local protocols and expectations
Maintain waste bins and recycling receptacles, ensuring timely removal and replacement
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Report any safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance requests to leadership
Monitor and replenish inventory levels of cleaning supplies
Organize and store cleaning equipment and materials in designated areas
Assist with setup and cleanup for warehouse events or meetings
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership.
Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
Abide by all company and warehouse policies
Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
