Job summary

Explore Industries is seeking dependable custodians to maintain cleanliness, safety, and order at our Knoxville manufacturing and corporate campus. You’ll clean offices and production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces, following safety procedures and stocking supplies.

Starting pay ranges from $17.50 to $19.00 per hour with potential increases based on performance within the first year. Ideal candidates have reliable attendance, the ability to follow instructions, and lift/move

Qualifications

• Prior custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience preferred but not required.
• Experience using cleaning equipment, supplies, and basic maintenance tools is a plus.
• Ability to read basic instructions, follow cleaning procedures, and learn new processes.
• Ability to safely handle and use cleaning products according to company procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain office areas, production areas, and restroom facilities.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces as needed.
• Clean and restock bathrooms with necessary supplies.
• Empty trash containers and remove waste to designated disposal areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of break rooms, and other common areas.
• Follow proper safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform other cleaning duties as assigned.

About the Opportunity

The Custodian plays an important role in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for employees, customers, and visitors. This position supports daily facility operations by ensuring assigned areas are properly cleaned, maintained, and stocked.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

• Lift, carry, and move trash bags, cleaning supplies, and equipment as needed.

Compensation

• Starting pay varies based on position and experience, typically ranging from $17.50 to $19.00 per hour.
• Performance is reviewed throughout your first year, with the opportunity for increases of up to 25% based on individual contribution and skill development.
