Job summary

Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia is hiring a seasonal custodial position responsible for removing solid waste from Snowshoe Village and business units daily, monitoring compactors, and operating the recycle program.

The role requires flexible scheduling, weekend and holiday work, and timely arrival; driving is helpful but not required. Snowshoe employees enjoy perks such as medical benefits, ski privileges, 401(k), and staff discounts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain Snowshoe compactors, reporting issues promptly.
• Ensure compactors are operational, clean, and emptied as needed.
• Keep compactor areas and village trash cans clean and organized.
• Manage trash and recycling collection, including special recyclables.
• Coordinate with Pocahontas Recycle and handle special waste needs.
• Report equipment defects, maintain cleanliness, and complete reports.
• Arrive on time, wear appropriate attire, and participate in training.
• Contribute to team efforts and achieve results as directed.

Start Date: The end of November and beginning of December with positions available throughout the season.

• Have a valid Driver’s license and ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program

Preferred Experience:

• Ability to move a pull trailer attached to a pick up


• Ability to operate a standard shift truck


• Knowledge of Snowshoe Mountain and location of departments is helpful
