Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP seeks a Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. Responsibilities include janitorial duties, daily scheduling, and handling hazardous waste safely. You will operate cleaning equipment, keep areas tidy, and report hazards to supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and professional communication. Shifts run 5am-1:30pm and 5pm-1:30am with a pay rate of $18–$19 per hour.

Qualifications

• No specific education required; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• May require a valid driver’s license and safety certifications.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.
